DayMark® Safety Systems Acquires Leading Dissolvable Purge Dam Manufacturer
Bowling Green, Ohio – March 13, 2007 – Strengthening its hold as the top U.S. manufacturer and distributor of dissolvable paper products, DayMark® Safety Systems has acquired Dissolvo® LLC from Gilbreth International, effective immediately. Dissolvo markets a line of dissolvable purge dams for use in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of steel, steel alloy and aluminum pipes.
“DayMark’s purchase of Dissolvo is a logical extension of our substantial interest in the dissolvable paper market,” said Jeff Palmer, president of DayMark Safety Systems and new president of Dissolvo. “While the application of our technology in TIG welding is different from how we use it in our Dissolve-A-Way® food rotation labels, the businesses are vastly similar from a manufacturing, distribution and servicing standpoint.”

Dissolvo pioneered the use of water-soluble purge dams in the early 1970s.
